ENHANCE HONG KONG
Planting seeds for community change

Launched in January 2020, ENHANCE.HK is an independent curated creative platform to express ideas that have the potential of improving the built environment and the quality of life in Hong Kong. Sepia Design Consultants are proud to be regular contributors of thought-provoking designs and ideas to this platform in an effort to improve Hong Kong’s quality of life.
HONG KONG NEIGHBORHOOD RECYCLING CENTER
Minimizing the export of waste to our landfills

Like many other areas of the world, Hong Kong is drowning in waste. In February 2014, Sepia Design Consultants Limited created and proposed a neighborhood recycling center prototype to community leaders and the HKSAR Government. Instead of the current system of refuse collection centers throughout Hong Kong, which involves direct transport of waste to the territory’s three overflowing landfills, this proposal proposes the creation of new one-stop satellite recycling and recovery centers at the community level, in order to divert as much material as possible away from the landfills.
COMMUNITY DESIGN COLLABORATION
Helping to create mutually beneficial outcomes

Sepia Design Consultants Limited donated their services to assist the operator of New Zealand’s busiest golf course in coming up with potential alternative design solutions to redesign an existing golf course, after Auckland Council mandated a portion of the existing course be converted to stormwater retention areas. Over the period of a year, a series of pro bono studies have assisted the Golf Course to establish a constructive dialogue with Auckland Council to arrive at a mutually beneficial design outcome that will benefit the entire community.
